THE FOOL

Keys: New beginnings - Inner Child - Adventure - Faith - Impulse - Movement - Freedom

The Message:

The Fool, is that inner spark of your being that journeys throughout the many lifetimes, forms and worlds of your story. It is a forceful energy that gives you the strength and foresight to go your own way along a new, uncharted path. When you connect with this part of yourself, the serendipitous moments seem to continuously unfold around you. The lessons that shape and form you throughout all of your adventures and awakenings are going to be essential to your self-discovery, but don’t forget: the limitations of the outside world also have the power to distract us from our higher calling. This is when we must look inward to find the answers. To seek out who we really are, beyond what we have been told or expected to be – to find out what fulfils us from a much deeper place of spirit.

Questions To Ask:

  • How am I going to write the book of my life?

  • What deeper spiritual awakenings are beginning to stir within me?

  • Am I ready to take the next big step?

Reversed:

This could indicate a time of confusion or uncertainty over life-altering decisions. If you have had difficulties in making choices in the past, or have relied on the reassurance or direction of others, you may want to take a step back, spend some time alone and meditate on this for yourself. It is important to trust your instincts and intuition at this time. If you are feeling disconnected from your Higher Self, try exploring avenues of meditation, creative visualization and self-expression.

THE MAJOR ARCANA

These are the juicy, potent keys in life that shake us to the core and fuel our hearts. Also known as trump cards, the Majors are numbered 0 (the Fool) to 21 (the World). These indicate universal archetypes found on the path to spiritual self-awareness, highlighting stages in life that we might encounter as we search for the meaning of it all. These lessons are traditionally reflected in the Fool’s Journey of the Majors as he meets each oracle and transitions through the three major planes of existence that show up in this Arcana:

The Physical/Material Plane: The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, The Emperor, The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Chariot

The Mental/Psychological Plane: Justice, The Hermit, The Wheel of Fortune, Strength, The Hanged Man, Death, Temperance

The Spiritual/Astral Plane: The Devil, The Tower, The Star, The Moon, The Sun, Judgement, The World.

These connect to the journey of our spirit and the powerful forces that come into play. When these cards show up in readings, it is important to pay attention. Cards in the Major Arcana act as signposts to events, energies or people that are, or will be, significant in your life and story.
